Mr. T’s Take…
February 26, 2015
I would like to congratulate Tod Hall (Silverwood parent of Ellie Hall) on being selected as National Teacher of the Year by the National Guard Youth ChalleNGe Foundation. Tod and his wife Hilary flew back to Washington DC this week to accept the award. Tod is an English teacher for the Washington Youth Academy and teaches struggling youths ages 16 to 18.
Many of Tod’s students give him credit for turning their lives around. One of Tod’s successful approaches includes using his guitar and music to make English relevant to students’ lives. As one of his students put it, “Every day before school, I can’t wait to get to English. This program is amazing.”
Great work Tod! The Silverwood community is proud of you.
