Mr. T’s Take…
miss ashley

April 29, 2016
Please join me in congratulating Miss Ashley, who recently earned her Professional Certification (pro-cert) in teaching! After a teacher receives their initial teaching certificate, the next level is to get a pro-cert. Although not required at Silverwood School, Miss Ashley felt this was important for continual growth as an educator.

Obtaining this certificate is not an easy task, and requires a lot of evening and weekend work. The process requires teachers to be reflective on their practices and to hone their skills as an instructor. Not all teachers pass their first time through the process . . . but our Miss Ashley did! I’m proud of her accomplishment and the expertise she brings to our Silverwood School community.
